Due its rarity, the optimal approach these tumors is unknown. Previous series describe a retrograde for mass excision. We present an antegrade robotic en bloc METHODS: After IRB approval was granted, retrospective review carried on all at our institution. robotic-assisted laparoscopic excisions partial cystectomy were included. Patient demographics as well intra- post-operative findings evaluated. then selected most recent excision highlight entities. procedures performed da Vinci® Xi or Si platforms (Intuitive Surgical Inc., Sunnyvale, CA). RESULTS: total 12 patients (5 females 7 males) identified mean age 52.8 years (SD±13.2). Mean BMI 28.3 (SD±6.6) kg/m2. The majority discovered incidental imaging (58.3%) umbilical drainage (25%) gross hematuria (16.7%). There three diagnosed in specimen. operative time 147 minutes (SD±52 minutes) estimated blood loss 19.2 mL (SD±19.7 mL). size found be 5.4 cm (SD±2.7cm) average length stay 1.1 days (SD±0.3 days). underwent removal mass. Robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial cystectomy for symptomatic urachal hamartoma.
We report a case of an urachal hamartoma in a 30-year-old African American woman. The urachal lesion was excised with a robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial cystectomy. Pathologic analysis revealed cysts, smooth muscle, and ciliated epithelium consistent with a hamartoma. The patient recovered without complication. This case highlights an unusual pathology that is infrequently reported followi...
متن کاملRobotic assisted laparoscopic partial cystectomy and urachal resection for urachal adenocarcinoma.
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE Standard treatment for urachal adenocarcinomas is open partial cystectomy and urachal resection; however, minimally invasive surgical approaches including laparoscopic and recently described robotic assisted laparoscopic partial cystectomy and urachal resection is feasible with potential less morbidity. A case of robotic assisted partial cystectomy and urachal resecti...
متن کاملLaparoscopic Partial Cystectomy for Urachal and Bladder Cancer
PURPOSE To report our initial experiences with laparoscopic partial cystectomy for urachal and bladder malignancy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between March 2002 and October 2004, laparoscopic partial cystectomy was performed in 6 cases at 3 institutions; 3 cases were urachal adenocarcinomas and the remaining 3 cases were bladder transitional cell carcinomas. All patients were male, with a median a...
متن کاملInitial Experience with Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Cystectomy in Urachal Diseases
PURPOSE In this study, we report our initial experience with robot-assisted laparoscopic partial cystectomy (RLPC) in urachal diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two men and two women with a mean age of 51.5+/-9.3 years underwent RLPC between June 2009 and December 2009. In each case, a single surgeon using the da Vinci-S robotic system (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, CA, USA) used a transperiton...
متن کاملNecrotic mass after transurethral resection of a bladder tumor: novel management with robotic partial cystectomy
A 76-year-old female with a history of high-grade transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder presented with persistent nocturia and urge incontinence and was diagnosed with a necrotic bladder lesion. Cystoscopy revealed a 4 cm area of necrosis, ulceration, calcification, and fat. Transurethral biopsy confirmed the lesion to be benign, and two attempts to re-epithelialize the area of necro...
